The object

A bound album, mounts and hinges in place, filled in date order with the domestic issues of thirteen years and a small separate section for the parcels office material. The later years are thinner than the early ones, which is what happens when someone starts as a child and gets a job. Nothing has been removed from the pages and the holder has not added anything either.

Flaws disclosed by the holder

• Three stamps are hinged rather than unused, on the page for 1963.

Where it came from

Assembled between the ages of nine and twenty-two by the holder’s husband, who kept it in a shelf above his drafting table and never priced it because he said the point was the thirteen years.
