The object
A deep scoop cut from a horn, its handle of a turned bone section pinned through the shoulder, with the small brush that went with it — bristle, wood, and a ferrule that has been re-crimped once. Both are worn in the way a working object is worn, smoothly and on one side, and both smell faintly of the tobacco they were used for until the drawer they lived in was emptied.
Flaws disclosed by the holder
The holder declares no flaws observed.
Where it came from
Made by the holder’s great-grandfather, who cut horn for a living and made this one for himself and would not sell it while he was alive; the listing is the first time it has left the family.
